Czechoslovak TeX Masaryk University Brno Users Group CSTUG & Faculty of Informatics invite you to the lecture (series) What things do we want NTS to do? given by Hans Hagen Abstract: When summarizing developments of TeX extension, we can conclude that eT eX has smoothed the path to NTS by providing a suitable arena for discussions. At the same time pdfTeX opens the road to a more drastic deviation from traditional TeX, if only by boosting TeX into the next century where graphics and interaction will dominate. Taco Hoekwater's eeTeX makes clear that we cannot neglect the input side and should closely follow the developments in the SGML field. The lesson learned is that we should not be too afraid to extend TeX. Lecture will be given at Faculty of Informatics, Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic, Botanicka 68a, on Saturday December 11th, 1999, 11:20 AM in multimedia auditorium D1. There will be another talk about implementation of NTS given by Karel Skoupý (in Czech) at 10:15 AM--just before Hans Hagen's talk. Admission free Hans Hagen is current NTS project leader. He is a director of PRAGMA, Advanced Document Processing. Karel Skoupý is freelance programmer, who currently fully concentrates on NTS implementation. ---------------------------------------------------------------- There will be four hour tutorial "All the nice things we can do with pdf(TeX)" given by Hans Hagen on Monday, Dec 13th, 1999, 4:00 PM at the same place.
